KAECT and AECT Region VII Awards

The Lyle E. Grooters Higher Education Award
This award is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to higher education and service to KAECT. This individual must be employed at an institution of higher education in the state of Kansas and have made significant contributions to an institution of higher education. This person also must have served as an elected officer and have served on or chaired numerous KAECT and AECT activities.

The Susanne Bradley K-12 Media Specialist Technology Achievement Award
This award is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to Elementary or Secondary education and service to KAECT. This individual must be employed at an Elementary or Secondary school in the state of Kansas. This person also must have served as an elected officer and/or have served on/or chaired numerous KAECT activities.

The William R. Fulton Award
This award is presented annually to a person in Region VII (Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana) of AECT who has demonstrated leadership in the field of educational communications and technology. The award honors the late Dr. William R. Fulton of the University of Oklahoma for his longtime service to AECT and Region VII. The nominee’s contributions at the local, state, regional, and national level should be included in the following areas: offices held, committee service, presentations, publications, influence on other associations, additional evidence of leadership and educational background.

The Donald “Gene” Bumpass Award
This award is presented to a state organization in Region VII that demonstrates outstanding qualities in programs, growth and leadership. In existence since 1990, this award is named after Dr. Gene Bumpass for his leadership and continued support of educational technology in the state of Arkansas. The Regional Coordinator presents the award every year at the National Convention Regional reception. KAECT received this award in 1990, 1995, 1997 and 1999.
